Hello Everyone!
This week as I was trying to decide which topic to write about, I came upon an essay I did last year about why I started this newsletter
As with every new year, some resolutions are set. One that I believe everyone should follow no matter what they do is creating content.
In this article, I will tell you the benefits of doing that and some companies that are doing a good job on the internet helping people share their work.
Content creation has been seen as something just a handful of people do as a part of their jobs probably people dedicated to being “influencers” in some niche, and we who don’t do that for a living, are on the other side of the equation as just consumers of said content.
That shouldn’t be the way
No matter if you’re in marketing, programming, politics, sports, fashion, or art. You can and should create your own things, as it could open more doors for your life
I believe that when you share something you spent a lot of time building with care and hope, you will get people to know you more.
When you create content, you’re providing useful information to an audience, attracting leads to you, which can help you with your goals
Benefits
I’ve seen what type of opportunities came after people decide to share their own content. Some are too good to pass them on and not to try. You could get:
New job offers, as you show everyone what are your skills and what you’re capable
Community, as product builders love to see what’s the next thing coming, you could get a bunch of people supporting your journey
More money if you decide to with affiliate marketing, sales, and subscriptions.
Friends, you could connect with many more people with the same mentality as yours around the world
Knowledge of what you are capable of, as after you start you could get to know yourself in a better way.
Above are just a handful of benefits you could get by start creating things but some may be a little bit lost on what kind of content should you create.
The sky is the limit let me tell you.
No matter what skills you have there are different ways of sharing your own opinions.
Types of content creation
There are different ways to start showing to the world what you love and what you do
I choose writing because it was something I always had a fascination for it and has helped me so much in my life. I decided to start not just as a therapy for my feelings and ideas but to connect with other people with the same goals, hobbies, dislikes, and fears, to help us understand each other and support one another in life.
Depending on what your skills are you could decide on what to do
If you like to talk to others, you could do a YouTube channel with interviews, maybe a podcast
If you like to write (like me), you could do a blog or a newsletter
If you like to build, you could do a new fun app or website
If you like to sing and dance, you could do funny videos and challenges
If you like teaching, you could start your very own course
If you like to exercise, you could create a program to help others be healthier
If you believe have a good sense of fashion, you could share your tips with others
It doesn’t matter which type of content you decide to do, what matters it’s to find a way to express yourself and share who you really are
Where can I share it?
Now, you have seen some benefits of doing content of your own and share it, what type of content can you do, you might be wondering in what place can you show it to the world.
As the internet grew, companies started to be founded to help people share their work. Now it’s easier than ever to get a place to host your content.
Here’s a little image I found online where you can see what platform is specialized in a kind of content

A good start if you decide to start creating your own things.
Last year, as the Pandemic started all the workforce were required to go home and do their job there, you could probably get a little free time to start getting into some hobbies you had before and never tried. This can be the sign to start doing your own content.
I know, creating this type of thing is time-consuming and requires a lot of your attention but if you try it, you could get closer to what you always dreamed of.
Creating content can be a better way to show the world who you are
I know from experience that doing your own things could be better than just spend the day seeing what others are creating.
It could make you more proud of yourself and have that confidence to take a big leap in life
Do you believe creating your own content can help in your career? I want to know
Until next week,
Jose
I have partnered with Buy Me a Coffee, so if you want to support me to keep doing this stories, here’s a link where you can do it
The New Gazette Presents
Sahil Lavingia which is the CEO and founder of Gumroad shared the way they work inside the company. A different take on the way we think about collaboration and employees. Sahil instituted a no-meeting, no-deadline culture so that he (and his employees) could avoid burnout while keeping Gumroad growing. See how they do it here.
I started sharing my skills with others using Fiverr, I recommend it if you want to show the world what you do simply and as fast as possible.
