Hello again,
Hope you had a great week.
Let's start this one with a story
Since I was little, I've been interested in learning about nature, how ecosystems were made, and how animals interact with each other.
I was the kid who preferred to watch a climate documentary over the repetition of a cartoon on TV.
This made got really curious about the environment and then as the effects of climate change were more and more visible I wanted to be part of a group of people helping to fight this crisis.
I’m from Guatemala, which according to some studies will be on the top 10 list of countries most affected by climate change.
I knew I needed to do something, but first I needed to learn
As I grew older, learning about nature or the climate crisis took me a lot of time, and decided to stop for a while, as I had school and other activities to do.
Over the last two years, I wanted to get back into learning and found some ways to do it in just a few minutes and give more time to connect with other like-minded people.
Here at The New Gazette, I talk about brands, communities, or people doing incredible things over the internet.
Today, I would like to talk about one, which is focused on finding ways to teach about how we, as citizens of earth, can be part of a global movement to end the climate change crisis.
The one is Earth Rise Studio;
Earth Rise Studio was founded by Jackson Harries, Alice Aedy, and Finn Harries this year as an
online community and youth-led media company dedicated to communicating the climate crisis and inspiring the next generation of activists.
They and a team of film-makers, storytellers, and designers create content with the aim tell a new story about the future of our planet in a better way.
On Instagram which is one of their main channels, they share in little infographics and images what is going on around the world.
Using simple language, not difficult jargon, as you can see below, they try to educate and bring together young people who can use this social media platform for good.
Over the last few months, they gather 100k followers which is an indicator of how many people are interested in learning and fight to end the climate crisis.
Jack and his brother Finn, built up a successful YouTube channel and production company gaining over four million subscribers worldwide but they took the amazing decision to use this platform consistently to raise awareness of mental health, forced migration, and environmental issues.
Now with this new project, they will continue to do this on a bigger scale, helping people like me along the way to learn and become a better activist for the planet.
I shared this project as now in just a simple post I can get more information about what can I do and what is happening around me.
Can’t wait to see what they come up with in the future
Until next week,
Jose
